ViewUs allows a user to view the textual content of any file on a mobile device or SD card. For many file types (i.e., Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, etc.) customized filters are deployed for extracting text from these files. File extraction if performed on the fly and in the background. No user interaction is required. As soon as the user clicks on a file (via Explorer) ViewUs is informed and proceeds to extract the files textual information (after the file is closed). To view the text information of a file, the user only needs to open the tool, scroll to the original file name, and click on it. Even files for which there are no filters, the tool can extract any available text information. On Windows Mobile devices where automatic file extraction is unavailable, the tool offers a File Explorer context menu extension.

Support exists for Windows Mobile 5.0 & 6.0 for the PocketPC/Professional and SmartPhone/Standard platforms.
